Lewis Chassis Works was established as a full time professional operation back in 1989 by its founder Kevin Lewis who had been working with hot rods since the early seventies.  The business was built on its reputation of quality and craftsmanship seeing Lewis Chassis Works secure customers from all over Australia, New Zealand, America, Europe and even Indonesia.

Today we operate from a purpose built workshop larger and closer to Melbourne.  All of our work is carried out by fully qualified tradesmen from inception to completion.  Our welding too is only completed by qualified DLI Welders. 

Our attention to exact detail and our customers specific requirements sees Lewis Chassis Works custom build each and every chassis.  There is no such thing to us as “off the shelf”.  Our clients dream is what we build with every chassis being designed differently and is a one off.

The main line of chassis we build comprise 1928 to 1940 Fords in all body styles and stages.  We also build 1934 Chevrolet chassis.  The range begins with the basic Stage 1 (which is for supply to hot rod shops) and continues right through to the Deluxe fully rolling Stage 3.  Whether our client wants to build a budget hot rod or a show winning hot rod our quality does not differ which ensures our customers peace of mind whichever road they take.

Lewis Chassis Works also completes full refurbishment and rebuilds on any type of hot rod chassis or custom up to 1970 along with any modifications or alterations our customers require.

Our chassis are still shipped all over Australia either to our customer or to a body builder or hot rod shop and we continue to see our chassis under some of the best hot rods around.
